Waiting is something most people do not love to do. Waiting in line waiting for food, or at the bank or a cheque coming, a baby to be born just waiting in general is a test of patience. Isaiah 40:31 ESV / But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Psalm 27:13-14 ESV I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! 2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. Psalm 27:14 ESV / Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! We can see just in these few scriptures there is a lot of encouragement that waiting brings good results. But there is a catch.
#1. You can see that you can obtain strength that is not of yourself a renewing, you can run and not grow weary or even walk and not faint.
#2. If you are waiting by faith you are to be looking for God’s goodness here on earth, because that is where the land of the living is. Take courage means do not fear, but wait for the Lord.
#3. Do not question why is this taking so long. God has not forgotten about you, there may be other reasons why it looks like nothing is happening, He may be giving others time to respond to His call.
#4. While you are waiting be strong do not be moved you can be rest assured God has not forgotten about you. Take your peace rehearse all the times He has come through for you. Rehearse you victories!
#5. While waiting do not cast away your confidence for if you hold fast you will get a great recompense of reward. Compensation is coming. So be encouraged to wait well trusting that God’s mercy will triumph over judgement and His plans are good and not evil. God has not forgotten you the answer is on the way. It will not delay God is a God of perfect timing. Trust in the Lord and wait well for if you let patience have its perfect work you will be entire wanting nothing.
