I made the last payment on the land at the beginning of December, so we've owned it for a few months, but last week we were able to pick up the papers that declares our association as the official owners of the land!!! Lupita and I had a good cheer once we had the papers in our hands!!! It feels a little surreal still, that we have made such a big move towards a permanent home for us all. As God often works, He brought me this to us out of nowhere. I had quit looking for land, and I didn't have any money to put towards it anyway. I was SO scared once I heard of this opportunity. I took so many people out to see the land, and ask opinions. I just couldn't believe that I had found a big, beautiful piece of land, at such a fantastic price. There had to be something wrong with it, right?!? ;) And now here we are! Today I will sign a contract with a local non-profit company who will start to build our perimeter security wall. Praise God, we have enough money left over from our wall fundraiser, to build the wall. Then the BUILDING fundraising will take place. How fun to be able to be dream of all the things that will take place in the next year or so. I can't wait to see what God does next! We just had a wonderful visit! The pastors from my home church in Canada came down, and were able to meet the girls for the first time! Also, some friends from the same church (who I’ve known since I was a teen) were with them. It was such a nice time of getting to know them all better, have them fall in love with my girls, share some struggles, and be so, encouraged. Part of that encouragement was a gift from an anonymous donor to spend one night at the beach and as we all know, the beach helps heal my soul!
We have had a LOT of medical appointments, lab work, ultrasounds, and x-rays in the last two months. It mostly affects only a few of our girls, but it has been worrying for me. Some need ongoing treatment, some we can't do much about, and some we have to continue to find out what is going on.
Please pray for our girls health. Please pray for peace and wisdom for me.
Also, please pray for one of our nannies. She has cancer again, (she had it a year and a half ago), and she is only 20 years old. We are doing what we can to help her, but things feel scary and sad for her, and for us. We want, and pray for, a miraculous healing. We know that God always has the best plan, and we pray for His will to be done.
This nanny once said to me, after I had told her how happy I was wth her work, "Naomi, I never imagined I would have such a job as this. I love to work with kids, and I am being paid well to do it. I'm so grateful that God gave me this job." She was in such awe that she was had been so lucky to work with us. She loves my girls so well. She has their best interests at heart, and she helps her fellow nannies above and beyond. Please pray especially for peace for her.
